WRITER'S GUIDELINES AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

First off, thanks for your interest in contributing to Loud Paper. It is this publication's mission to provide voice to new writers in the architectural arena. The more writers in each issue, the louder we can be.

For all articles:
Please e-mail me a very brief abstract of what you are thinking about for your article(s). Just a few ideas to let me know where you are coming from, what will be covered and how long you expect your piece to be. Also, e-mail me if you are looking for an article assignment or a book review.

Tone/Voice:
Keep in mind while writing your piece that Loud Paper blends pop culture with architecture, art and design. To this end, we attempt to keep the voice of magazine more journalistic than academic. Think visually, if you find yourself conflating the simulacra of the paradigm, think again.

Guidelines:
Articles should be no longer than 2000 words. Most pieces are around 1200, but a shorter piece is fine.

Please proof for grammar and spelling.

All drafts should be double-spaced in 12pt type with basic formatting.

No double-spaces after periods.

Use AP Style Manual for basic guidelines. For example: do not write out numbers over 100 and do not use a comma after the and in a series.

No footnotes. When possible, include all reference information in the body of the piece.

Most art and architecture movements are capitalized. Dada, Cubism, International Style, Postmodernism, with one big exception, modernism is not capitalized. Consult your dictionary for capitalization on other movements.
